In addition to the 300 athletes at the start of the Middle Distance, the Triathlon Sprint was also held in the morning with 200 athletes competing. Ilaria Zane, an Italian with great international experience, dominated the race in 1h10’57” ahead of the Swiss Francesca Zenklusen (1h16’23”) and the Hungarian Zora Filep (1h17’08”). In the men’s event, Stefano Micotti took the lead (1h04’58”) ahead of Alberto Bartolomeo Demarchi (1h05’19”) and Fabio Bruschi (1h07’43”).
