Important recognition for the Parco Costiero della Riviera dei Fiori, the cycle/pedestrian path on which part of the cycling route and the running section of the Challenge Sanremo runs.
Now in its tenth edition, the Green Road Award – the Oscar of Cycling Tourism, which annually rewards regions that promote holidays on two wheels with services for slow tourism, went to the Liguria Region for the Cycling Riviera.
ANSA (the most important Italian press agency) celebrates: “Cycling Tourism Oscar to Liguria with the Cycling Riviera”. The Repubblica website headlines “Liguria triumphs” and, describing the route and services, underlines that it is “an infrastructure designed for sustainable transport, also much appreciated by residents for daily travel. Along the entire route, there are refreshment points, bike rental, automated toilets as well as clear signage”. The newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore also highlights this success: “Picking up the baton of the Pedemontana Cycle Route and Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Cycling Riviera, also known as the Riviera dei Fiori Coastal Park Cycle Route, was proclaimed winner of the 2025 Cycling Tourism Oscar in Trieste. It can be covered on foot or by bicycle and winds from Ospedaletti to the former Imperia Porto Maurizio station for 33 km”.
During the Challenge Sanremo, the “Ciclabile” offers unforgettable views of the sea, colorful late summer blooms and above all the only flat and fast sections in the cycling segment, useful for catching your breath or raising your average speed. In the running section, however, you tackle the Capo Nero tunnel, an exciting and extraordinary gallery-museum of the Milan-Sanremo.
Why not come and discover the Riviera dei Fiori Coastal Park on the weekend of 20-21 September?
