Challenge Sanremo Swimrun: the first edition in memory of Alessio Bianchi

A full of emotions opens the long weekend of the Challenge Sanremo. The Swimrun race that opened the competition program was preceded by a touching moment dedicated to the memory of Alessio Bianchi, the last farewell to the athlete of the Rivera Triathlon 1992 who died suddenly this summer.

After the thrills, the competition begins. The first edition of the Challenge Sanremo Swimrun along the splendid promenade, in the blue sea and on the steep streets of the historic center towards the Pigna of Sanremo. The best of the day was Federico Gallo who won ahead of Hughues Plessis (Fra) and Davide Castello. In the women’s field, victory for Michelle Kimberly-Johnson (Fra) who proceeded home team representer Monica Fierile and Silvia Pernigotti.

Tomorrow day dedicated to sprint triathlon and youth competitions, Sunday the “main race”, the Challenge Sanremo – Middle Distance.
