Registrations for the Challenge Sanremo 2026 are open from 12:00 PM on Monday, October 27. The race weekend of the fifth edition of this international event in the Challenge Family circuit will take place on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2026.
The schedule is now consolidated and includes the Swim & Run event and the Youth Races on the first day, and the Challenge Sanremo – Middle Distance and the Sprint Distance Triathlon on the second day.
The courses for the weekend’s main race have been confirmed, as well as the event headquarters, which will once again be Portosole Sanremo. The 1,900-meter swim in the Porto Sole marina area starts from the Antenna di San Martino beach and ends just steps from the transition area. The 81 km cycling section is the part that characterizes the race. After leaving the first transition area, participants will ride along the Pista Ciclopedonale del Parco Costiero del Ponente Ligure, heading east, crossing Riva Ligure and Santo Stefano al Mare, before start the first climb. The route climbs towards Terzorio, Pompeiana and Castellaro. The gradients are not prohibitive and make this first climb decidedly rideable: only in the last part, it reaches 10%. Subsequently, the route descends towards Taggia, before starting to gain altitude again. The route follows a slight slope that follows the course of the Argentina river towards Badalucco and then takes the turn from which a long 17 km climb begins that leads to Passo Ghimbegna (altitude 1030 m), after crossing Argallo, Zerni and Vignai. The positive difference in altitude, which is almost 1500 meters, is over: now we descend towards sea level from Bajardo, Ceriana and Poggio di Sanremo, facing the famous descent of the Classicissima Milano-Sanremo in the finale.
The 21 km of running over 2 laps of 10,5 km is spectacular. A flat and flowing segment that will take place on the stretch of the cycle/pedestrian path in the municipality of Sanremo that offers a wonderful sea view and includes crossing the Capo Nero tunnel, an exciting gallery-museum of the Milano-Sanremo.
The sprint distance triathlon route is also truly exciting, which, in the cycling section, includes the climb and descent of the legendary Poggio di Sanremo.
Challenge Sanremo 2026 will be a qualifying race for The Championship, the world final of the international circuit Challenge Family.
