As of today, the international triathlon event scheduled for 3-4 October 2026 will be known as Geoplin Challenge Sanremo
Geoplin Italia, the energy company of the Petrol Group founded in 1975, has chosen the Italian stop of the Challenge Family circuit, Riviera Triathlon 1992, Sanremo, Liguria and its Riviera dei Fiori for its first major sports partnership in Italy.
For the event held in Portosole, this marks a historic milestone: for the first time, the event’s name will be paired with a title sponsor, marking the start of a new phase of growth for the event.
With this agreement, Geoplin enters the world of Italian sport for the first time, choosing a territory and an event that perfectly embody the company’s values: an international event capable of drawing athletes and enthusiasts from all over the world, bringing with it a diverse culture, a spirit of openness and a genuinely global outlook. Challenge Sanremo
Challenge Sanremo is the Italian stop of the international Challenge Family circuit, held in Sanremo, at Portosole, in the heart of the Ligurian Riviera. Now in its fifth edition, the race weekend includes the Middle Distance event (1.9 km swim, 81 km bike, 21.1 km run), the Sprint Triathlon (0.75 km swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run), the Swim & Run and the Youth Races. The demanding, technical and spectacular bike leg follows the final stretch of the Milan-Sanremo cycling classic, making the course unique in the international triathlon scene. Challenge Sanremo is also a qualifying race for The Championship, the world final of the Challenge Family circuit, and in recent years has seen steady growth in registrations, cementing its place as one of the most beloved stops on the international calendar for its scenery, hospitality and race-day atmosphere.
