A crystal-clear sea, the extraordinary scenery, a unique view, with the city embracing the starting area and the lush hills in the background make the swimming fraction of the Challenge Sanremo truly amazing.
In addition to the naturalistic aspects, the characteristics appreciated by the athletes include the excellent signaling of the course, the substantial assistance to the athletes during the swimming fraction, the spectacular Australian exit that adds a difficulty but offers the possibility for the participants to feel the warmth of the public during the first fraction, the possibility for the spectators to see the entire course at a glance while remaining on the beach, on the cliffs or on the promenade.
These are some of the reasons that led to the nomination of the race in the Best Swim Course category at the Challenge Family Awards 2024. Voting opens on Wednesday, December 11 at 8:00 and will close on Sunday, December 22 at 23:59 on website www.challenge-family.com/awards
In addition, like all the other races in the circuit, Challenge Sanremo is competing in the Best Race of the Year category. We recall that in 2022, the Sanremo event was crowned as the best new race in the Challenge Family circuit.
The winners of each category will be announced on January 14, 2025 and the awards will be presented during the Global Race Director Meeting in Slovakia, in May.
