The countdown is coming to an end for the third edition of the Challenge Sanremo. Two days of competition, 21 and 22 September, a rich program and big names at the start of the 2024 edition of the race that is part of the prestigious international triathlon circuit Challenge Family.
Big names at the start of the medium distance race next Sunday. We will see the German Maximilian Sperl, winner of the 2023 edition, in the transition area, while his compatriot Jonas Schomburg, protagonist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, will make his debut in the Riviera dei Fiori race. First time in Sanremo also for Michele Sarzilla, who faces this challenging test after completing the Olympic cycle. In the women’s field, a welcome return for the Austrian Lisa-Maria Dornauer and the French Justine Guerard, both already on the podium at the Challenge Sanremo; also starting the Italian Marta Bernardi, multiple Italian champion of this specialty.
As for the program, Friday 20th officially opens the weekend with the press conference at the Town Hall of Sanremo (11:30); Saturday 21st, the first races: in the morning, from 11:00, space for the Youth Races, at 14:30 the Challenge Sanremo Swimrun – Memorial Alessio Bianchi will start. Sunday 22nd, at 8:00 the third edition of the Challenge Sanremo – Middle Distance starts, at 9:00 the start of the Triathlon Sprint. The two special prizes will also be awarded: the Memorial Marco Gavino and the Trofeo Daniele Rambaldi.
